Concours d'art oratoire
40+ Years of Excellence
The Concours d’art oratoire is Canada’s largest annual French public-speaking competition, proudly brought to life in this province each spring by CPF–Manitoba. Over 4,700 students took part in the 40th edition, culminating in 165 speeches at the provincial finals in May 2025.

The Concours d’art oratoire is designed to allow all French-language learners in Grades 3-12 to participate. Multiple age divisions include several category options to accommodate a range of language programs and levels, creating a unique opportunity for all learners to participate, no matter their language education background.

This vibrant event offers students a powerful opportunity to build confidence, sharpen French fluency, practice public speaking, and join a supportive community of French-language learners and speakers.
How Educators Can Get Involved
While there are many opportunities for educators to volunteer for Concours d’art oratoire events, teachers also play a crucial role as Concours Coordinators within their schools or divisions. This role offers educators a chance to showcase students’ talents, enhance their communities, and contribute to the success of a province-wide celebration of French language and expression.
